Weather in Santa Fe

Nestled in the picturesque Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Santa Fe averages more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Santa Fe also has four distinct seasons, and generally has less than 40 percent humidity.

Santa Fe is 7,000 feet above sea level, which means day temperatures reach an average low of 40 degrees Fahrenheit during the winter months, and an average high of 91 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer.

Nights are cool year-round in our "high desert" city. Generally, Santa Fe receives six to eight snowfalls per year between November and April.

Visitors to Santa Fe should wear sunscreen, even in the winter, and drink plenty of water while visiting, because the city's high altitude makes it easier to get a sunburn or get dehydrated.
